Bio Luminiscient Bay Kayaking

Swimming with infinite Dinoflagellates in warm water of Mosquito bay and may not sound like a sexy ...but, having done this on a clear night was one of most romantic experiences ever!

Unfortunately, this is something you may have to expereince for yourself. No picture will do justice to what it really feels like. When you sit in the kayak and start paddling toward the mid of the bay. Anything and everything that moves and touches these micro-organisms, lights them up! So when a fish swims by, it appears like a long florousent snake zipping past the kayak. It takes a bit of geting used to this. When you finally get to swim in the bay on the moonless night, it is like the diamonds rolling off your hand.

We went with Blue Karibe Kayaks and found them very professional!

Parasailing

St Thomas, USVI, USA- Nov 2006

Parasailing-Yes, sure we will probably enjoy this activity again in future, as they say, first time is always special. We enjoyed the turquoise blue water of the Carribean as we floated up in the air- about 500 feet, before landing back in the boat. The next time around, I want to come down with a splash- literally.

White water rafting

Trip 1: June 2004
We rafted at Poconos(at Jim Thorpe, PA) on Lehigh river. The first time around we rafted with Shilpa and Hemu (friends) and Amol (Harshal's cousin). Take a closer look at the photo and you will see that of all those in the raft, I am the one wearing a big smile in spite of my precarious position. What followed was destined- yes, I was so very excited that in my enthusiasm, I lost balance and found myself in the rapids. They tell you to float with your legs up in the air to avoid any injuries. What they forget to mention is that your rear will have to take them instead. A memorable trip not because this was our first time at white water rafting but because the group members had to use all their strength to fish yours truly out of the water.
Trip 2: August 2006

We rafted (just the two of us in a 2 person raft called 'Shredder'- and yes, the name of the apparatus was not so encouraging) at Ohiyopyle State Park, PA on the Yough river. This was a thrilling Class 3-4 experience. Loved every minute of it! Now they have a class 5 here that we both swore to attempt the next time around.
Trip 3: September 2006

We had a repeat experience of our first trip with another group a couple of years later- minus my falling performace! This time we rafted on the very same stretch of rapids with friends -Parag and Aditi and their friends- a couple from New Jersey.
